Nikon Coolpix S70 Quick Review
Available in four color combinations, Nikon Coolpix S70 is an ultra compact, attractive and slim camera that easily slips into your pants pocket or even a small bag. There is a thin metal panel on its front that covers its internal wide angle lens with 5x zoom. If you slide down that cover, the camera turns on. The only button available in this camera is shutter release and I think it’s not really necessary. It totally relies on hand gestures for controlling almost all the features. These include swiping gestures for scrolling through images, pinching motions for zooming in and out and the touch screen shutter that captures images with a slight touch on the screen.

The other features include 720p video capture, effective 12.1 MP CCD image sensor and NIKKOR optics with 5x optical zoom. It also features a rubberized front panel for your hand’s grip and is entirely automatic.
By buying this camera you can get the following items along with it.
• Battery charger
• AV Cable
• USB Cable
• Software Suite CD
• Strap
• Li-Ion Battery
This camera measures only 2.4×3.8×0.8 inches but has a good weight due to its metal construction. Though it has rubberized front panel for hand holding, it will just go unused as there is OLED on the back for four finger holding.
The key features of Nikon Coolpix S70 are:
• 12.1 Megapixel
• 5x optical zoom
• 3.5 inch OLED monitor with touch screen
• Scene auto selector
• 20 MB internal memory
• SD and SDHC compatible
• Smart portrait system
• Quick retouch
The menu system in Nikon Coolpix S70 is quite attractive and easy to navigate. However it will not be necessary for you to use them since it is highly an automatic digital camera. But if you still want to change some settings, then the easiest way will be changing it in Auto mode where there will be different boxes around the monitor that will help in changing the settings to your desired mode. Altogether it is one of the best touch screen camera produced by Nikon Company that worth its value for the money you will be paying to purchase it.
Goods: This camera has large 3.5 OLED touch display, impressive viewing angles and responsive. It is capable of recording video at 720p high definition and very fast to turn on and shoots photo under 2 seconds.
Bads: Display resolution is poor in this camera and it highly depends on touch functionality (even it doesn’t have extra physical rocker for zooming). Also, poor noise at low ISO.
